Avicii Artist Spotlight
Avicii, also known by the name, Tim Bergling, has recently become one of the most prominent producers in the Electronic Dance Scene. He has been nominated twice for a Grammy Award, once for his work on “Sunshine” with David Guetta in 2012 and once for his song “Levels” in 2013.
Tim Bergling, was born on 8 September, 1989 in Stockholm, Sweden. Avicii started making music at the age of 18, writing and remixing tracks in his bedroom and then leaking them onto various websites and blogs. Bergling stated some of his Influences as being Daft Punk and Steve Angello. Avicii’s melodic and unique house sound gained a huge following, and gained support from David Guetta, Nicky Romero, and Tiësto. Tiësto soon invited him to perform a weekly show at Privilege in Ibiza.
Avicii became a huge hit across Europe and later in the U.K., thanks to a vocal work with Amanda Wilson who was featured in some of his work. In 2012 he released the song “2 Million” after reaching that number of followers on Facebook, while his single “Levels” and its accompanying video were nominated at that year’s MTV Music Video Awards.
